How to Report Your Student's Attendance

Options for Reporting Your Student's Absence (All schools except Lakeville North and Lakeville South)

Parents/guardians have two options for submitting absence, late arrival and early leave requests for their student(s)--directly through Infinite Campus Parent Portal OR by emailing the school's attendance email. We encourage parents/guardians to submit absence through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, as it is a convenient process designed to streamline the attendance reporting process and minimize any attendance errors.

Please only report your student's absence, late arrival or early leave using ONE of the methods listed below.  

Options for Reporting Your Student's Absence (For Lakeville North and Lakeville South Students)

Lakeville North High School and Lakeville South High School parents/guardians have two options for submitting absence, late arrival and early leave requests for their student(s)--directly through Infinite Campus Parent Portal OR by calling their school directly. We encourage parents/guardians to submit absence through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, as it is a convenient process designed to streamline the attendance reporting process and minimize any attendance errors.

When a student is absent for any reason, the parent is expected to notify the school by email (preferred) at cmsattendance@isd194.org or by phone at 952-232-2318. Please provide the following information.

  • Student’s first and last name (with the spelling of the student’s last name if leaving voicemail)
  • Student’s grade
  • Reason for absence
  • Number you can be reached at if there are questions
  • Relationship to the student

Leaving School Early

  1. PLEASE SEND A NOTE in the morning with your child and instruct them to bring it to  the Student Services/Attendance Office before school or during passing time. 

IF A RELATIVE OR FRIEND IS PICKING UP your student, please indicate that on your note as we will not release your child without it and proper identification. 

(At times appointments are not known ahead of time, but if known, please send a note so we do not interrupt class time.) 

  1. STUDENT OBTAINS A PASS from the Attendance Clerk to leave their classroom. 
  2. STUDENT SHOWS PASS to their teacher. Teachers will not let the student leave class without a pass from the office.  
  3. PARENT/GUARDIAN MUST COME INTO THE FRONT DOOR to sign out your student. Please bring your driver’s license, you will be required to swipe your ID.

 

Arriving Late or Returning to School 

Each student will sign in themselves in the Attendance Office.  

Parents/Guardians do not need to sign in your student to school.

Our bus service is provided by Schmitty & Sons, for more information on their services, or to contact the bus garage, please call 952-985-7513 or visit their Schmitty & Sons Website.

Visitor Information

When visiting Century Middle School, please use our Visitor Security System. This system allows students, families, staff, and community members to visit our schools and help ensure a safe and secure environment for all. If you plan to visit during the school day, please bring your state-issued ID, such as your driver’s license to swipe upon entrance.

There are four steps:

  1. Push the red button.
  2. Swipe your State-issued ID.
  3. Proceed to the School Office and pick-up your printed badge and display during your visit.
  4. Swipe your ID on your way out to check out of the building.

We truly value the parents, volunteers and community members who spend time in our buildings to help support our students.

 

Schools Hours and Schedule

Arrival: 7:17 a.m.

Start Time: 7:24 a.m.

Dismissal: 2:00 p.m.

Buses Leave: 2:07 p.m.

Pick-Up and Drop-Off Map

CMS uses a single entrance and exit system for our parking lot. All parent drop-offs occur on the upper level.  Only buses are permitted on the lower level for pick-up and drop-off.
Please yield to buses, they have the right-of-way.
